@1 year ago with 66663 notes| me, very slightly hammered at trivia night: | WELL, because, if you don't know anything about trauma, then sure, but like, no, because, the third hunger games is about the reconSTRUCtion of self, of "a" self, anyway, in the face of a catastrophe so huge that it annihilates THE self, the "original" self, the self we thought was immutable, the things that were, that were beloved and like indeed INTEGRAL to that self, that are eliminated by the trauma, that have to be [sweeping arm gesture] REINVENTED, and, you know, sorry if that's not, like, ACTION-PACKED enough for you, but like, it is aBOUT HEALING, which is like, NOT NICE, like, i'm sorry but healing is NOT NICE, usually, i know we always say it is but it's mostly shitty, it's mostly just like, ANGER, and like, WEIRD BEHAVIOR and cRYING, and like, just ACCEPTING that life is MEANINGLESS, so, you know, okay, it's a weird thing to make an ACTION MOVIE about, but i'm just saying, like, rESPECT IT |
